The Flying Tern originally is a Dutch boat, designed by "van de Stadt" in 1955. In Dutch it is called "Stern" which has the same meaning as the English "Flying Tern" and refers to the seagull like bird. This is also where the insignia comes from.
As far as I know all FT's are build in The Netherlands, although there might be builders abroad somewhere.

You can find pictures at this website in the "Foto's" section which might help to learn more about the boat. Also we have a section with class rules (klassevoorschriften) which also contains several drawings which might be of interest.

If there's anything specific you would like to know about the Flying Tern, please let me know. I'll be happy to answer any questions there are.
